CIPA is responsible for administering the government’s contribution to marketing of Cook Islands Pearls. Marketing strategies are designed to benefit the industry as a whole and include strategies to promote Cook Islands Pearls both locally and globally, to increase the number of trade suppliers of Cook Islands pearls and to ensure good price points for farmers in return for quality pearl production.
CIPA’s staff and Board is supported by a Marketing Advisory Group made up of marketing experts drawn from the pearl industry and other business areas. The Marketing Advisory Group helps CIPA to develop marketing strategy, collaterals, advertising and promotion. CIPA markets both the Avaiki brand and Cook Islands Pearls and behalf of the pearl industry. CIPA promotes the Pearl Exchange to the retail and wholesale jewellery trade internationally and participates in trade events, auctions and one off promotions.
